Megacubo for Windows 11 and 10 — free M3U/IPTV player
On Windows, Megacubo is installed from a single file on the official site that downloads the latest build during setup and keeps the app updated afterwards. The download is served by megacubo.tv, the project's site — it is the same free, open-source app that runs on the other platforms.
How to install
- Download the installer from the official site — use the installer published on megacubo.tv; that is the one that carries the app's updater
- Run the file — the installer downloads the latest build during setup; you do not choose between x64 and ARM64, the right package is picked in the download
- Open Megacubo — the app opens in its own window and asks for no account: it runs locally
- Add your playlist — in the IPTV Lists shortcut, enter the URL or the M3U file of your channel playlist
- Watch — pick a channel from the grid and use the miniplayer to keep the stream on top of your other windows

What changes on Windows
Automatic updates
The installer keeps the app updated once installed, with no manual download
Recording and schedules
The desktop is where recording streams and scheduling recordings pays off most, with local files
Miniplayer
The stream stays on top of your other windows, in its own strip of the screen
Keyboard shortcuts
Navigation by shortcuts, besides the mouse, to change channels and control playback
Recording, VOD downloads, schedules and casting to TV are part of the optional Premium license.
When Megacubo is not the best choice
- To open a video file on your computer — VLC is more direct: it is a file player, not an organiser of channel lists
- To build a media centre with add-ons and a local library — Kodi is the best-known option; Megacubo is focused on live TV, radio and M3U playlists
The other platforms are in Platforms, with their own instructions for Linux, macOS and Android TV.
Frequently asked questions
Why download Windows from the project's site and not from GitHub?
Because the megacubo.tv installer is an installer-downloader: it downloads the latest build during setup and keeps the app updated afterwards. The packages on GitHub do not carry that update flow.
Does it work on Windows 7?
The declared minimum is Windows 7 or later, with 2 GB of RAM, 100 MB free and an internet connection. The comfortable range for live streams is Windows 10 or 11, 4 GB of RAM and 500 MB free.
Do I need a license to watch on Windows?
No. Watching live TV and radio is free and open source. The Premium license is optional and adds recording, VOD downloads, scheduled recordings and casting to TV.
